Brush-up on your interviewing skills.
Most people say they interview well. But when the stakes are high and you are passionate about this avenue, don’t leave it up to chance. Get yourself prepared with these simple interviewing preparation tips.
Resume and Cover letters.
Chances are your first impression will come from your resume and cover letter. Poorly constructed documents say a lot.
There are ample templates online to utilise, AI platforms that can assist AND specialists in the field that can create amazing resumes. If you would appreciate our basic resume template to help get you started, let us know!
Resumes should be approx 2 pages, highlighting any relevant skills and experience to the field you are targeting and showcase previous employment history, starting with the most recent.
Cover letters should be tailored to the industry and role you are applying for. This is where you can filter in some personality to your application, let them know something that is not evident from your resume and make a lasting impression. ½-1page max.
Look the part.
The real estate industry and the business attire accepted within this sector is classified as ‘corporate’. If you are lucky enough to secure an interview, how you present is just as important as anything else.
We definitely would not recommend going out and spending $1000s on a new suit, but put some effort into your presentation, show that you care and want to be taken seriously.
Put yourself out there!
If you are struggling to secure interviews, what is stopping you from getting out there?
Applying for roles online is one option.
But when it comes to real estate, you need to be able to show some initiative and that is why we will always recommend getting yourself in front of hiring managers.
It is much harder to forget a face than it is an email.
Suit up, print off your resume and walk-in local agencies. Say hello, introduce yourself and see where the conversation leads.
